Gaps in our healthcare systems can lead to insufficient diagnostic testing resulting in sub-optimal cancer treatment planning. A patient’s diagnostic work-up of their cancer is dependent on the testing infrastructure available at their hospital, the patient’s type and stage of cancer, their geographic location, and/or reimbursement pathways. Many patients do not receive the most current diagnostic testing available, putting them at a disadvantage to the effective management of their cancers.
