Cancer Diagnostic Navigation and Consulting Services
Cancer Diagnostic Navigation Services
This is a service for patients who are already diagnosed with cancer.
Navexio helps cancer patients get the best and most comprehensive biomarker diagnostic tests that may not be offered or available during their normal course of care. This information will be used to help patients and their care team understand the root cause (or genomic mutations) driving their type of cancer.
Leaving no stone unturned and using an evidence-based approach guided by precision oncology principles, Navexio identifies these gaps and works with the best laboratories in the world to perform the required biomarker testing.
Navexio then uses the results from these additional tests to educate patients on their cancer’s biomarker profile and empower them to engage in a discussion with their cancer care team for shared decision-making to optimize treatment planning.
Comprehensive diagnostic testing is essential early in your diagnosis
During the cancer diagnostic work-up for patients, gaps in our healthcare systems can lead to insufficient biomarker testing resulting in sub-optimal cancer treatment planning.
One of the most important steps in the early stages of a cancer diagnosis is to ensure that the cancer has been tested with the most current and comprehensive technologies to determine its molecular and genomic signature.
Many patients do not receive the most current diagnostic testing available, putting them at a disadvantage for the effective management of their cancers.
A patient’s diagnostic work-up of their cancer is dependent on the testing infrastructure available at their hospital, the patient’s type and stage of cancer, their geographic location, and/or reimbursement pathway.
Navexio’s Diagnostic Navigation Process
The field of cancer and diagnostics is rapidly evolving. Navexio offers diagnostic navigation consulting and cancer treatment planning services for patients and their families/ caregivers.
This is achieved through 5 steps.
-
Navexio will schedule an initial consultation to learn about the patient’s cancer journey, medical history, and discuss the next steps and timelines. This will set the course for Navexio to develop a personalized navigation and consultation roadmap.
(Navexio offers a complimentary consultation with patients and their families to learn about the patient, discuss the process, and determine if Navexio can help with their particular needs.)
-
After gaining access to the patient’s medical records, Navexio will conduct a full review and assessment of the documentation (including molecular and pathology reports) to determine what diagnostic tests have been performed, and more importantly, what tests have not been performed or missed (due to many reasons such as limitations of the healthcare system, reimbursement pathways in the jurisdiction/ hospital, clinician preferences, etc).
-
Navexio will prepare a detailed report with recommendations for an action plan to ensure that all of the appropriate and cutting-edge diagnostics are pursued - specific to the patient’s cancer type. Not all tests and technologies are the same, and so Navexio uses its expertise to recommend the most appropriate test(s) and the laboratories. The knowledge and data gained from these tests can provide invaluable guidance towards the most appropriate treatments using precision oncology principles. Navexio’s Diagnostic Navigators are focused on optimizing treatment options by ensuring an accurate biomarker signature of the cancer has been attained.
Navexio will then work with the patient, their assigned caregiver, and their healthcare team to implement the additional tests required.
-
Once test results are received, Navexio will prepare a second report providing recommendations on next steps for treatment planning to share with the patient’s healthcare team. Specifically, Navexio will be focusing on clinically actionable outcomes that can guide next steps. This information can provide invaluable and impartial guidance for clients and their medical teams towards the identification of the most appropriate treatments using precision oncology principles.
-
Navexio offers ongoing guidance and cancer navigation to provide patients with information or support services that are needed. Many Navexio clients continue to engage Navexio as part of their circle of care acting as a Partner in their cancer journey. Navexio offers additional services including Clinical Trial Search Reports, Drug Access Navigation, Oncology Nurse Navigation, and more.
